Hotel Continental has been associated with the arts and cultural life in Oslo since actors and artists made Theatercaféen their regular meeting place in the early 20th century. “Take care of the artists,” was founder Caroline Boman Hansen’s comment in her day. The interest and love for art has been passed on through the generations and is reflected throughout the property.

This is no exception in the Continental Suite which is decorated with fine contemporary art. The most striking pieces is the movable art wall painted by a Norwegian artist, Sofie Vesterøy. It is 5 x 3 meters and stretches over two floors.

The Yamaha grand piano is an art piece in itself. There are only two of its kind in Scandinavia. The second one is owned by Benny Anderson from the former pop-group ABBA. Behind the piano is a photo by Eivind Lentz. The beautiful assemble of photographs in the master bedroom is collected from Featuring Spaces in Oslo. All art and decorations are hand-picked by the owner Elisabeth C. Brochmann.

The interior design of the Continental Suite was created by the renowned UK-based studio G.A Group, known for their work in high-end hospitality around the world. In close collaboration with the hotel’s owner, they crafted one of Scandinavia’s most exclusive suites, a space where timeless elegance meets bespoke design. Nearly all of the furniture has been custom designed and built specifically for the suite, resulting in a cohesive and truly one-of-a-kind experience that reflects the character and heritage of Hotel Continental.
